While the iconic lines on the west face of El Cap lure crowds, the rarely climbed and incredibly committing east side of the stone lures the bold and daring. Far from lacking character, the routes here deliver world-class face climbing and epitomize the technical and adventurous style that has quickly become Amity Warme’s calling card. Going for a ground up, free ascent of El Niño (5.13 b/c), Warme and her partner Brent Barnaghan commit to the unknown, face storms, and forge a lasting partnership as she attempts to become the first woman to climb the route.
