Meet the crowd at the Alpine Village in Chamonix

SUB HEADLINE IN UAT 

Each day, the Alpine Village in Chamonix center becomes the buzz of the town with its own unique schedule, free for all. Under a giant canopy, it will feature an Arc’teryx brand experience space, its own bouldering wall and it will play host to world film premieres, elite athlete talks, guest speaker sessions, product demos and workshops. With live music, a lounge area, food and drinks, it’s the perfect place to catch up with new friends, the alpine community and locals. Everyone is welcome to join and enjoy the festival vibes! Details on the program and schedule, will be updated here.

PLEASE NOTE: Check-in for clinics on Wednesday and Thursday will be held at the Alpine House in Jackson Hole. Check-in for clinics on Friday-Sunday will be held at the Center for the Arts in Jackson Hole.

Chaque jour, le Village Alpin de Chamonix devient le lieu de rencontre de la ville, avec un programme exclusif, gratuit pour tous. Sous une canopée géante, venez expérimenter la marque Arc'teryx, un mur de bloc, une scène où vous pourrez visionner des premières mondiales, écouter des conférences d’athlètes hors du commun, découvrir de nouveaux produits en démo et participer à des ateliers. Avec de la musique live et une zone lounge, c’est l’endroit parfait pour retrouver vos nouveaux amis, la communauté alpine et les locaux. Coming to Chamonix

By plane:

Chamonix-Mont-Blanc is :

• 88 km from Geneva International Airport

• 220 km from Lyon International Airport

• 171 km from Turin International Airport

By train:

Main lines by TGV from Paris :

Connections by Train Express Regional (TER) to Saint Gervais Les Bains - Le Fayet at 20 km from Chamonix.

The Mont Blanc Express goes from St. Gervais Les Bains, through the Chamonix valley to Martigny (Switzerland).

By bus:

• Regular connections by bus connect Chamonix to Geneva and Courmayeur daily.

By car:

Access via the Autoroute Blanche E25 - A40.

• At 16 km from Switzerland via the Col des Montets

• At 15 km from Italy via the Mont Blanc Tunnel

Required equipment

Much of the event will take place in high altitude areas around Mont-Blanc, so we recommend an early arrival to Chamonix-Mont-Blanc (at least one day prior to the start) to make sure your body gets used to the altitude.

• Be sure to also read through the clinic descriptions and the specific equipment requirements listed there.

• Please bring whatever gear you own that is relevant to the course and that you normally use. There will be some demo gear available to test, but we cannot guarantee sufficient availability.

• Due to weather and local conditions all schedules are subject to change. If conditions don’t allow the clinic you have signed up for, we will work out an alternative plan with the guides.

For all clinic participation the following basic mountaineering equipment is required:

• Mountaineering boots (crampon compatible)
• Functional and warm clothes
• Backpack
• Waterproof protection (jacket and pants)
• Gaiters (optional)
• Gloves, hat
• Sun protection (sunglasses, hat, sunscreen, lip protection)
• Thermal flask, bottle
• First Aid kit
• Hiking poles (optional)
• Food: Please bring enough food and water (at least 2 litres) for a full day in the mountains.

WHAT TO BRING: SOFT GOODS

• Synthetic Base Layer top and bottom
• Lightweight Fleece or wind shirt
• Soft shell jacket
• Soft shell pants
• Gore-Tex Shell Jacket
• Gore-Tex Shell Pants
• Light-weight insulating top that can be worn under shell jacket
• Mid-weight insulation Jacket with a hood that can fit over all layers
• Mid-weight gloves- These can be worn for skinning or hiking up hill
• Heavy weight gloves or Mittens- For cold or stormy weather
• Winter Hat- Warm hat, wool or synthetic
• Sun Hat or visor
• Socks – wool or synthetic
• Neck Gaiter or “Buff”- something that you can cover your face with in cold temps or high wind
