Yuko Kakizawa

About

Yuko Kakizawa is a DJ of Franco-Japanese origin who has been based in Paris for almost ten years and is a resident at Badaboum, one of the capital’s leading clubs. She has joined the Friendsome Records collective and label, where she shares the stage with artists such as Belaria and Tatee Dee. She’s renowned for her sets, which veer between acid-house, progressive house and balearic, but she also adapts to her audience and follows her own desires to explore new horizons.

Yuko has already played some prestigious slots, including the Petit Palais for the FIP 360 concert and soon the Le Bon Air festival in Marseille. She’s also played on some great line-ups with iconic artists such as Laurent Garnier. She can often be found in Paris, at the Rex Club, the Station Gare des Mines or the Yoyo. She’s also starting to make inroads into European clubs such as Renate in Berlin, Rumore in Capri and Post Bar in Helsinki, making her an artist to keep an eye on as she rises to prominence on the national and European scene.

About

One is a dreamer. The other is a pragmatist. One comes from house music, the other from techno. Few things seemed to bring Dan and Jay together but it was ultimately by working together that the two DJs discovered their complementarity and learned to overcome their insecurities. The story could have ended there, but that was without counting on Jay's passion for tinkering. During a festival in 2021, he innovated with the first sound system using recycled batteries transported on a cargo bike. The story was set in motion.

The duo began to ride around Paris with their soundsystem at a time when people had only one desire: to dance. The concept worked, welcoming as many curious as devoted, young and old, purists and newcomers, warned only 24 hours ahead. Radio Cargo arises from the frustration that many people in the party scene in Paris have, becoming too elitist or expensive. To break these codes, they gave themselves the right to organize open-air events in the capital, to break away from an obvious problem of access to culture and celebration.
