Clinic 06-SAT: GORE-TEX® mountaineering education level 3 (Saturday)
This course is about advanced technical alpinism. You will further your knowledge and skills to prepare you for different situations and mixed terrain in the mountains. You will practice walking on exposed terrain and ridges, learn how to adjust the rope system accordingly (short roping). You will be shown different ice axe uses and will practice front point technique. More skills, such as setting up an abseil, placing protection and leading the group on your own will be covered in this course.
Requirements: Advanced mountaineering skills, ability to climb and use crampons for 4 to 6 hours

Meeting point/time: 07:30 am at Alpine Village in the town center of Chamonix
Location: Aiguille du Midi top or Petite Verte area

WHAT TO BRING?
Basic mountaineering equipment + crampons, harness, helmet, ice axe, a sling (1.2 m) and a screw-gate karabiner. Bring your own equipment so that you can practice with what you normally use.
