Clinic 23-SAT: Norvan Vertical Trail Running Level 1
Get into vertical mountain running. You are an alpinist and looking for alternatives to expand your fitness level? You are already experienced in trail running and looking for new, steeper terrain? Than this course might be for you.
The course will be split in three parts. First, you will get the theoretical background on training principles, equipment choices, nutrition, route planning and navigation options. In part two, you will be out in the field. During a group run, you will get a training on basic uphill & downhill techniques, route finding and recovery techniques. After getting back, it’s all about how to cool down, stretching and how to avoid injuries.
Requirements: You should bring condition for uphills of approx. 800-1000m (in this clinic, we will take breaks for training techniques). Be able to run for 2 hours in the flat

WHAT TO BRING?
Trail running shoes, water- or windproof jacket (depending on weather), long-sleeve shirt, running shorts or tights, hat and gloves, dry shirt / long-sleeve to change,running backpack / pack / belt with hydration system, 1 l liquid (water, energy drink) in flask, 3 to 4 energy gels or bars, emergency blanket + optional: GPS-watch; heart rate monitor.
