Clinic 12-SAT: High Altitude Medicine (Saturday)
This course by mountain doctors specialized in high altitude and cold diseases will discuss what could happen on a high altitude expedition. You will learn how to prepare for alpine adventures, how to deal with mountain sickness ”MAM” and the use of the “decompression chamber”. In addition, you will also learn 5 different techniques on how to immobilize an injury and how to survive in extreme conditions. The end of the day will be filled with making a survival sledge to transport a casualty.
Requirements: Basic mountaineering experience, basic knowledge of walking with crampons
