Clinic 02-FRI: GORE-TEX® mountaineering education level 1 (Friday)
This clinic is the Level 1 of the mountaineering progression during the Academy. It has been specifically built for people wanting an introduction to mountaineering. The focus here is clearly yourself. We want you to learn how to prepare your pack before heading out on the hill, how to use safely and adequatly your alpinsim gear. You will be taught how to put your crampons on how to walk and progress on a glacier, and the different usage of your ice axe. You will also discover the basics of rope management. Towards the end of the day you might even have the chance to try some steeper ice climbing steps using two tools.
This day is mandatory for participants who have never worn crampons before and/or would like to continue with their technical mountaineering education or glacier walk.
